What to expect
As a visitor to Living Word Faith Center, we want you to feel comfortable worshipping with us, no matter what your church background may be. The following information is provided in the event that some aspects of our worship service are new to you. Some of the things you may notice include the following:The Bible says that "...where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty" (2 Corinthians 3:17), and that praise is "...becoming and appropriate..." for God's people (Psalms 33:1 Amp.). Our services are characterized by exuberant praise and worship, with uplifted hands and hearts (1 Timothy 2:8). Our music style is contemporary and upbeat. Come worship with us and experience for yourself that "...the joy of the Lord is your strength" (Nehemiah 8:10).
This is one of the fundamental doctrines of the Lord Jesus Christ listed in Hebrews 6:1-2. Through the laying on of hands, the "anointing" or God's power is transmitted from one person to another. The Bible teaches different reasons and situations for laying on of hands. When Jesus and others ministered to people for healing, it was often done through the laying on of hands. Jesus said believers would lay hands on the sick and they would recover (Mark 16:18). Many times hands are laid on an individual who comes forward to receive ministry. By the laying on of hands, people are ordained and set apart for ministry.
The Apostle Paul, in chapters 12 and 14 of I Corinthians, refer to the different ways the Holy Spirit moves in the Church. These "gifts" or "manifestations" are initiated by the Holy Spirit so we try to be sensitive to what He wants to do in any particular service. For instance, God may give "a word of knowledge" regarding those in the congregation with a particular need to whom He wants to minister. Or there may be a "prophecy"
Come worship with us and experience for yourself that "...the joy of the Lord is your strength" (Nehemiah 8:10).
